MorseCoder (morsecoder.us) is an educational Morse code translator and learning site. This policy explains what we do — and do not — collect.

Short version

• Your translations run entirely in your browser.
• We do not require accounts or logins.
• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not store the text or Morse you type on our servers.

Information we do not collect

Message content entered into the translator, trainer, quiz, or keyboard tools is processed locally with JavaScript. It is not uploaded to MorseCoder servers for storage, analysis, or advertising.

Local browser storage

Some features may save preferences in your browser (for example theme preference via localStorage, or trainer scores). That data stays on your device and can be cleared by clearing site data in your browser settings.

Hosting and logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical data such as IP address, user agent, referring URL, and timestamps for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to build marketing profiles of individuals.

Advertising, cookies, and similar technologies

MorseCoder shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may place and read cookies on your browser, and may use web beacons, IP addresses, and similar identifiers to collect information as a result of ad serving on this site. That can include delivering and measuring ads, limiting how often you see an ad, and showing ads based on your visits to this and other sites.

The text and Morse you type into the translator, trainer, quiz, or keyboard are not uploaded to our servers and are not sent to Google as ad targeting data.

How Google uses information from sites that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage personalized ads at https://adssettings.google.com and opt out of many third-party ad cookies at https://www.aboutads.info.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified message before personalized ads are used. Visitors in US states with privacy laws can use the same privacy controls where Google presents them.

Essential storage, such as localStorage for dark mode or trainer scores, stays on your device and is not an advertising cookie. You can clear it in your browser settings.

Third-party links

Articles may link to external resources (for example ARRL, CW Academy, or Wikipedia). Their privacy practices are their own; we are not responsible for third-party sites.

Children

MorseCoder is a general-audience site. The kids guide is written for parents and teachers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not request ads on that page.
